Ayrshire Bibliography
This index lists over 600 books about Ayrshire. It has been compiled from three sources: 1) books on open shelves in the Local History Section of the Carnegie Library in Ayr; 2) books appearing in a list published by Cunninghame District Library c.1983; 3) books in the local history collection of the library in Dalmellington.
Books are listed in alphabetical order of author or editor. The alphabetical sections are preceeded by three sections of books where no author or editor is named; these are listed in alphabetical order of title. Most of the entries are of published works. However, the Cunninghame District Library list contained some archival holdings, and these have been included.
You can browse the list, or go to the appropriate alphabetical section to check on works by a known author. To look for a particular word appearing in a title or in a comment, use Search. In some cases you will find a link to a review or even to a complete work on the Web.
