This is an impressive and substantial volume and a credit to the labours of Alistair Lindsay and Jean Kennedy, who edited the work on behalf of the Ayrshire Archaeological and Natural History Society, and to the Ayrshire Federation of Historical Societies, which published it as volume 2 in its Ayrshire Records Series.
