Direction stone at the junction of the T12 (B743) with T74, a minor road leading to Catrine, at NS543271. Mauchline, Ayr, Sorn Muirkirk. Catrine. Height 99cm. On S side of T12 and W side of T74. Turnpike 74 was introduced in the 1805 Act: ' A road from the south end of Mauchline village, by Grassmillees and Ballamyle Smithy to Catrine, and from thence towards Sorn, by the back of the Chapel of Ease, passing through the parishes of Sorn and Mauchline.'

Direction stone at the junction of T12 (B743) with T19 (B7037) leading to Galston, at NS545272. Galston. Sorn, Muirkirk, Mauchline, [Ayr]. Height 78cm. Turnpike 19 was included in the 1767 Act: 'The road leading from Galston, by Sorn, to Old Cumnock.'

Direction stone at Sorn old bridge, across which T19 continues in the direction of Cumnock. Sorn, Muirkirk, Galston (the arrow pointing right for Galston is partly obscured by the road surface). Catrine, Auchinleck, Cumnock. Height 68cm. On S side of T12 and E side of T19. This stone, in common with others in Sorn (below), when surveyed had recently been painted. The painting has not been faithful to the detail of the inscribed letters. For comparison see the direction stone above.
