The name is engraved in the wall of the house at the corner of Wellington Square and Fort Street. Wellington Square is similarly engraved.

Fort Street has a complement of eight Victorian name plates. Compare this with the neighbouring Sandgate which has none.

'Fothringham' is the correct spelling, honouring Richard Frederick Fothringham Campbell (Close, 2001).

The Fullarton Street name plate on the right was photographed in September 2005. It has since gone missing. The outline of its former position, shown extreme right, was photographed in June 2016.
